An Empirical Examination of Evaluation Methods for Computer Generated Displays: Psychophysics.

摘要

Computer generated displays are potentially powerful and flexible tools for presenting information to nuclear power plant operators. Such displays may be used in advanced control rooms and in Safety Parameter Display Systems (SPDSs). The purpose of the research discussed herein is to develop and describe objective methods for evaluating the effect of introducing graphic displays in nuclear power plant control rooms. The data from this work can provide a basis for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to objectively evaluate specific licensee developed display designs.
