The Structured Assessment Approach Version 1, Computational Analysis Package. Volume IV.

A methodology, called the Structured Assessment Approach (SAA), has been developed to assess the effectiveness of material control and accounting (MC&A) safeguards systems at nuclear fuel cycle facilities. The methodology has been refined into a computational tool, the Version 1 analysis package, that has been used first to assess a hypothetical nuclear fuel cycle facility and more recently to assess operational nuclear plants. The Version 1 analysis package is designed to analyze safeguards systems that prevent the diversion of Special Nuclear Material from nuclear fuel cycle facilities and to provide assurance that diversion has not occurred.
