The resistivity changes of an oil bearing formation as a firefront sweeps through were investigated. This information is important to an understanding of the CSAMT apparent resistivity maps made of thermal fronts associated with enhanced oil recovery processes. Resistivity measurements were made in a combustion tube used to simulate in situ combustion recovery. It was found that the resistivity of the formation increased by two decades as the firefront passed through the medium. (ERA citation 07:042281)
