Broadband Rotational CARS (Coherent anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy) Spectra of Simple Gases of Interest in Combustion Diagnostics

Pure rotational CARS (Coherent anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy) spectra of several molecules, common in a combustion environment, are presented. The recordings were realized using a nonplanar phasematching condition called folded BOXCARS. With this configuration it was possible to record almost zero Raman-shift transitions. The experiments were performed with a broad-band dye laser, permitting single-pulse measurements. (ERA citation 09:003049)
