Use of Simulation Methods in the Evaluation of Reliability and Availability of Complex System

After a short review of the available standard methods in the reliability field like Boolean algebra for fault tree and the semi-regeneration theory for Markov, this paper shows how the BIAF code based on state description of a system and simulation techique can solve many problems. It also shows how the use of importance sampling and biasing techniques allows us to deal with the rare event problem. (Atomindex citation 14:734062)
