3D Nonlinear Initial-Value Calculations in Resistive MHD

摘要

An approach to the simulation of the resistive MHD equations in toroidal geometry is described. The equations are solved as an initial-value problem using a mixed finite-difference/spectral technique in a coordinate system based on the equilibrium magnetic field. A partially implicit first-order time-integration scheme is combined with modular programming techniques in order to minimize storage and computational work. (ERA citation 07:063779)
