6000 TPD SRC-I Demonstration Plant, Coke and Liquid Fuels Naphtha Hydrotreater: Design Baseline Package. Volume 1

The 6000 tpsd Demonstration Plant is being designed and built for the purpose of demonstrating the technical feasibility, the environmental acceptability, and the economic feasibility of the Solvent Refined Coal (SRC-I) process. Raw naphtha will be distilled to the desired boiling range for the hydrotreater feedstock in the Naphtha Prefractionator. The overhead will be a pentane to 160 exp 0 F TBP gasoline cut and sent to storage after condensing and cooling. The bottoms will be the feedstock to the hydrotreater unit and will be pumped into the Naphtha Hydrotreater Feed Surge Drum. The Naphtha Hydrotreater Feed Pump will deliver the feed at the required pressure to the reaction section. Hydrogen will be injected into the feed and the combined charge will be heated, the diolefins and dienes present in the feedstock saturated, and the sulfur-, nitrogen-, and oxygen-containing compounds hydrogenated. The liquid stream from the high pressure separator will be let down in pressure and flashed into the low pressure separator for phase-separation. The vapor stream will be sent to fuel gas and the liquid will be sent to the naphtha stabilizer for removal of butane and lighter components as an overhead which will be sent to fuel gas. The hydrotreated naphtha product will be recovered as a bottoms product and sent to storage after heat exchange and cooling. The overhead products from the low pressure separator and naphtha stabilizer will be combined and sent to a DEA unit for acid gas removal prior to injecting into the fuel system.
