Under coordinated research programme on comparison of groundwater ''dating'' methods, water samples from two study areas have been analysed for dissolved radionuclides exp 222 Rn, exp 226 Ra, exp 238 U and exp 234 U/ exp 238 U activity ratio. Concentration of inert gases He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe has been measured and recharged temperature of groundwater has been estimated. The amount of exp 4 He found in groundwater samples was much higher than expected from the aquifer matrix and groundwater residence times. The source of additional exp 4 He has not been positively identified. The exp 234 U/ exp 238 U activity ratio variations do not follow any regular pattern which would allow the deduction of groundwater residence times. (Atomindex citation 14:805908)
