SARRP(Severe Accident Risk Reduction Program): Risk Rebaselining and Risk Reduction Analysis

This paper presents some of the results obtained to date in the Severe Accident Risk Reduction Program and describes the analyses to be performed during the remainder of Phase 1. The following subjects are covered: (1) methodology for risk rebaselining and cost-benefit analysis, (2) treatment of uncertainties, (3) calculations of reactor financial risks, (4) cost-benefit results for selected prevention and mitigation systems, (5) procedure for generalizing plant-specific analyses, and (6) relevance of results to severe accident decision making.
