This report consists of two chapters and an appendix. Chapter I presents a qualitative discussion about how the oil market behaves during oil supply disruptions. Chapter II describes the efforts to model oil market behavior to date and then outlines some next steps for bracketing the range of likely behavior patterns in the next major oil supply disruption. The appendix contains some background information on the world oil market.
