Thin-Film Photovoltaic Research and Development Program of the Solar Energy Research Institute

A review is given on the activities of the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) Thin-Film Photovoltaic Research and Development Program. SERI is one of three research centers responsible for implementation of the program objectives of the US National Photovoltaic Program, which is managed by the US Department of Energy's (DOE's) Photovoltaic Energy Technology Division. The primary research emphasized by SERI is the development of promising new approaches to photovoltaic cells such as thin-film and multi-junction concepts. The program plan and recent research and development results in the priority research areas are presented and discussed. (ERA citation 09:009610)
