摘要

The Energy-Kote study was proposed as a two-phase project to develop a comprehensive design methodology for radiant heating in the build environment. The objective of the first phase of the study was to research the available literature and design information to determine if enough data was published to develop a credible design methodology. Considering the fact that where a perfectly diffuse emitting surface is employed such as the Energy-Kote panel the radiant heat flux in the space is constant so the effect on all surfaces is constant. The temperature of the inside surfaces varies based on the thermal resistance (R) of each of the boundaries, however, the change in R ( delta R) of each boundary should be the same as it is based on the radiant heat flux rather than the surface temperature. In the proposed design method a value of delta R of 0.5 was used based on the empirical data available. This value correlates well with results and is consistent with the claims made by all manufactures of radiant panels. (ERA citation 08:055897)
