摘要

A model is presented which describes the deposition of energy at the surface of powder particles during shock-wave consolidation. Solution of the thermal transport equation subject to boundary conditions of constant surface flux yields thermal histories which can be used to predict the type and extent of microstructural modifications following compaction. The application of the model to compacts of several different metal powders is discussed. (ERA citation 08:049505)
