摘要

An approximate analytical expression for the K-shell ionization cross section is derived starting from the Plane Wave Born Approximation (PWBA). The calculations are carried out under an appropriate choice of a normalizing function. The effects of Coulomb deflection of the projectile and the increase of the binding energy of the K-shell electron were included. The resulting expression is very simple and reproduces available experimental data for a wide range of projectile velocities and target elements. (Atomindex citation 16:028065)
