Paris Potential Model Results for Proton-Proton Bremsstrahlung

In order to better understand the problems plaguing the potential model approach to pp gamma , a modern calculation of pp gamma cross sections and asymmetries has been undertaken. Results are presented for the Paris potential and an extended version of the Reid soft core potential, neither potential having been used in previous pp gamma calculations. In addition, this calculation combines the contributions due to relativistic spin corrections, Coulomb effects, and high partial waves from the 1- pi exchange. Results indicate that the use of a modern potential, in conjunction with the correction terms considered, still produces results that are in poor agreement with the available data.
