Phonon Frequency Shifts and the Pressure Dependence of Tsub(C) in Lanthanum

We report the effect of pressure on phonon frequency and its influence on the superconducting transition temperature in the case of lanthanum. The variation of phonon frequency with pressure is calculated through the thermodynamic Grueneisen parameter gamma sub(G). Tsub(c) values calculated are found to agree very well with the experimental results. (Atomindex citation 16:029978)
