摘要

To optimize the performance of induction heating systems, it is necessary to ensure heating occurs only where required. In many instances the optimisation of performance is achieved by experimental as opposed to analytical techniques. This paper presents the results of the Finite Element Method (FEM) applied to the induction heating problem. The technique makes the investigation of heating conditions easy and temperature distribution in the workpiece can be predicted. The text of the paper deals in detail with the application of FEM technique and illustrates the technique with examples of a roll heater and a seam welded tube annealer. (ERA citation 10:027935)
