Issues Associated with Integrating Energy and Agricultural Policy to Stimulate Agricultural Energy Production

This paper describes these agricultural commodity programs and soil conservation programs and examines ways in which they might be modified to incorporate an energy production objective along with traditional agricultural policy objectives. The description in each case includes a brief historical perspective, a description of current policy, and a discussion of policy alternatives currently under consideration. The final section of this paper summarizes the major findings with emphasis on those that might provide inputs for the 1985 farm bill. (ERA citation 10:051090)
