Design of a Shock Isolation System for Large Structures Undergoing Large Displacements

This document shows an illustration of a typical underground nuclear test configuration. Buried underground is a nuclear device and the instrumentation used to monitor key aspects of a nuclear test. Located on the surface are trailers that are used to house the equipment that will record the data measured during the test. The data are transmitted via cable from the instruments underground to the recording equipment located within the trailers.
