Use of SiO sub 2 and TiO sub 2 Sol-Gel Antireflection Films on Silicon Solar Cells

SiO sub 2 and TiO sub 2 sol-gel solutions were prepared for use as antireflection coatings on silicon solar cells. Multiple layers of the sol-gel were applied to silicon substrates, and the resulting reflectance curves were measured and calculated. The reflectance properties double-layer coatings on silicon were calculated as a function of the thickness of the SiO sub 2 and TiO sub 2 layers near the optimum range. (ERA citation 10:036340)
