Reconstruction of Two-Dimensional Spectrum of pi sup 0 Mesons from the Spectrum of gamma Quanta

摘要

The preprint presents the numerical solution of the integral equation linking the kinematic characteristics (energy and longitudinal momentum) of gamma radiation from pi sup 0 meson decay with the kinematic characteristics of the meson. The method allows to use gamma spectra for the reconstruction of the pi sup 0 spectra. The results are presented of testing the method on the model reaction pi p -> p pi pi sup 0 , pi sup 0 -> 2 gamma at 5 GeV and on data from the reaction pi sup - p -> p pi sup + pi sup - pi sup - , pi sup + -> 2 gamma obtained at 5 GeV at JINR with a 1 m hydrogen bubble chamber.
