Preprototype 3100 Ah load-leveling cells, developed on ANL Contract 31-109-38-4951, have been cycled at 40 +- 5 deg C on an 80% DoD, 2 cycles per day regime for 2340 cycles. Three of four competing designs continue to cycle, meeting all capacity and voltage requirements. This data at 40 +- 5 deg C are compared to emerging cycle data from similar cells on test at ANL National Battery Test Laboratory at 50 and 60 deg C. Cycle life goals at 40 and 50 deg C have been met. Tests are continuing in an effort to demonstrate their equivalency to 4000 cycles at 25 deg C on the same regime. (ERA citation 11:003020)
