Role of Supercomputers in Magnetic Fusion and Energy Research Programs

The importance of computer modeling in magnetic fusion (MFE) and energy research (ER) programs is discussed. The need for the most advanced supercomputers is described, and the role of the National Magnetic Fusion Energy Computer Center in meeting these needs is explained. (ERA citation 10:035795)
