In the framework of the known multiple scattering theory the differential cross section of the sup 18 Q(PI, PI) reaction for the energies 29, 164, 180 and 230 MeV is calculated. The wave functions of the ground state and excited states of the nucleus sup 18 O are found in the minimum approach of generalized hyperspheric function method. The pion-nucleus t sub(PIA) matrix is constructed by solving the Lippman-Schwinger equation on-energy-shell and taken into account the phases of PIN - scattering. Theoretical values of oifferential cross section of the (PI sup +- - sup 18 O)-reaction under consideration adequately describe experimental data. 24 refs.; 5 figs.; 2 tabs.
