The model described here is for a vertical cylindrical heater with a hemispherical lower end. It was developed as part of an experimental investigation of untriggered and triggered film boiling collapse and the validity of the assumptions is assessed for the range of experimental conditions. Comparison is made with theoretical results. (Atomindex citation 17:040082)
