Passive Solar Retrofit of Elderly Group Home. Final Report

摘要

The initial activity was to have an energy analysis performed on an elderly group home. The analysis was completed and several recommendations are given, such as increasing insulation in the sidewalls to R-19, considering a water-source heat pump, and constructing a sunspace rather than a greenhouse to offset summer heat build-up while maintaining benefits of a sunspace buffer. Residents are to be trained in the operation of movable insulation, and thermostats are to be locked. (ERA citation 10:023665)
