Acoustic Velocity Measurements on Fluid Metals from Two-Fold Compressions to Two-Fold Expansions

Methods used for making acoustic velocity measurements on samples which are destroyed in time scales of milliseconds or less are described. Analytic techniques for using this data to calculate thermodynamic quantities are outlined.
