Mechanical Tests on Aluminum Alloys AMg6 and 5456-0

This is a compilation of a preliminary series of mechanical tests performed on specimens extracted from 0.2 in. (5 mm) thick plates of annealed alloy AMg6 and its nearest US equivalent, 5456-0 at room temperature. Included are in-plane tensile data on strain rate sensitivity, quasistatic notched behavior and post-shock properties, and one attempt at spall suppression by back-surface hole drilling.
