摘要

This paper reports on experiments conducted to verify the accuracy of computer models of atmospheric microwave attenuation. Measurements were made of 2.856 GHz TE sub 10 breakdown in a waveguide. The measurements were compared to one-dimensional computer calculations. Disagreements were found between measured and computed values, so a two-dimensional model was used. The two-dimensional calculations were found to agree with the experiment much better than the one-dimensional calculations. (ERA citation 12:023205)
