PWR Radiation Fields:1983-1985

Westinghouse, supported by EPRI, has been collecting data to characterize plant radiation fields as well as conducting research with the objective of reducing exposure rate buildup in PWR systems. The Standard Radiation Monitoring Program (SRMP) established a broad-based set of radiation field data that enables examina¬tion of the factors which influence the buildup of radiation fields in pressurized water reactors (PWRs). This second report presents the exposure rate trends observed in PWRs based on the SRMP data and evaluates the effect of various param¬eters in particular, primary coolant chemistry, on exposure rates.
