Computer Code 'BEAM' For the Ion Optics Calculation of the JAERI Tandem Accelerator System

摘要

The computer code BEAM is described, together with an outline of the formalism used for the ion optics calculation. The purpose of the code is to obtain the optimum parameters of devices, with which the ion beam is transported through the system without losses. The procedures of the calculation, especially those of searching for the parameters of quadrupole lenses, are discussed in detail. The flow of the code is illustrated as a whole and its constituent subroutines are explained individually. A few resultant beam trajectories and the parameters used to obtain them are shown as examples. (ERA citation 13:034651)
