Comparison of Existing and Proposed HEP (High Energy Physics) Data Acquisition Systems and Their Suitability for RHIC

In this note, a summary of data acquisition systems is presented for the High Energy Physics collider facilities. Particular emphasis is made on the data acquisition stages and trigger rates.
