摘要

A systematic procedure for the design of chemical process flowsheets, control systems and retrofits is described. The approach is based on a combination of heuristics along with short-cut design and economic models that can be implemented on a minicomputer. The procedure provides a rapid means for selecting the process units and the interconnections between these units, generates a list of alternatives for these selections, identifies the dominant design variables for each alternative design, estimates the optimum design conditions for each case, and screens the various alternatives. By using short-cut methods for the calculations, a complete design can be evaluated in about 10 seconds on a minicomputer and alternatives can be screened very rapidly. (ERA citation 13:001411)
