Ionization of Polarized 3He+ Ions in EBIS Trap with Slanted Electrostatic Mirror

Methods of producing the nuclear polarized 3He+ ions and their ionization to 3He++ in ion trap of the electron Beam Ion Source (EBIS) are discussed. Computer simulations show that injection and accumulation of 3He+ ions in the EBIS trap with slanted electrostatic mirror can be very effective for injection times longer than the ion traversal time through the trap.
