摘要

Using the continuity and the energy equations for the two dimensional ion fluid together with the Boltzmann distribution for the electron fluid, a set of two coupled nonlinear differential equations has been obtained in order to study the nonlinear ion-temperature-gradient driven drift waves in an inhomogeneous magnetic field. The stationary solution of the nonlinear equations are shown to be dipolar vortices. Conditions under which this kind of self-organization occurs are presented. (ERA citation 13:055868)
