This paper presents an overview of the current state of the art in radwaste management technology in the United States and attempts to analyze its future trends. The status of radwaste management technology development on the Oak Ridge Reservation is also outlined. This overview covers the legally defined radwaste categories, including high-level waste, spent nuclear fuel, transuranic waste, and low-level waste. 24 refs., 3 tabs.
