摘要

In the past fifteen years, a number of energy conservation standards for the design of new non-residential buildings have been promulgated in the United States. These vary in their approach from component level prescription of minimum efficiencies or levels of insulation to whole-building energy goals. Over the past five years, the US Department of Energy (USDOE), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) of North America have been cooperatively developing the next generation of energy conservation standards for the United States. This paper describes those efforts and provides a comparison of the anticipated benefits (energy savings) resulting from recently adopted standards (the US Department of Energy Non-Residential Standards, and ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90. 1P). A series of annual energy simulations of various types of non-residential buildings was performed to assess the impacts of the requirements of the standards. The results of these simulations (using the DOE-2.1C hourly energy simulation program) are presented and discussed. 4 refs., 2 figs.
