摘要

We discuss an interferometric second-harmonic-generation (SHG) autocorrelator for characterizing femtosecond pulses generated by a colliding-pulse, mode-locked ring dye laser. The autocorrelator consists of a modified Michelson interferometer. One arm provides a variable time delay through the use of a corner cube oscillating at 60 Hz. Electronic filters are used to display the pulse envelope and the second-harmonic interference fringes. Since this autocorrelator produces an interferometric autocorrelation signal, it is possible to monitor the effects of pulse chirping, as well as the pulse width. 5 refs., 7 figs.
