摘要

The University Research Instrumentation (URI) program has been developed as part of an interagency effort under the coordination of the Office of Science and Technology Policy to help alleviate the overall shortage of sophisticated state-of-the-art instruments required for advanced scientific and technical research at universities. The program was initiated in FY 1984 with a recommended funding level in the Energy and Water Development Appropriation Act of $4,000,000. The FY 1990 Congressional appropriation for this program is anticipated to be about $5,000,000.
