This report describes four experiments that test the chemical basis of mycorrhizal colonization in the root system of pine trees. This quarter, modifications to the experimental design are described, plant growth data are included, and phenolic compounds produced by pine trees in responce to colonization are evaluated. 7 refs., 1 tab.
