Tensile and creep properties of SA533 Grade B Class 1 steel.

Tensile and creep tests are being performed on several lots of base metal and weldments to determine the design stresses for 1% strain in 1000 h over the temperature range of 371 to 538(degree)C. Short-term tensile tests indicate that the strength is least for base metal, intermediate for transverse weld specimens, and greatest for weld metal. Creep tests show much less variation, with about equivalent creep strength for base metal and transverse weld samples and slightly greater creep strength for weld metal.
