摘要

The visualization of multi-dimensional, multi-channel data is an essential task for the solution of many scientific and engineering problems. Scientific visualization, which allows people to interact with and manipulate graphical representations of otherwise raw data obtained from simulations and experiments provides increased comprehension of the true nature of the data. As data sets increase in size, dimension and complexity, however, the need for new visualization techniques becomes immediately apparent. In particular, it is necessary to address the following visualization problems: Techniques to address the rendering of three-dimensional data sets and techniques to address interactive visualization of data. The results of this work have been published in a separate report which is attached to this report. (ERA citation 15:036672)
