摘要

The studies compiled in this thesis consist of seven papers, and cover the Norwegian-Greenland Sea, The Barents Sea and the Reykjanes Ridge south of Iceland. The main objective of the first paper was to study variations in subsidence history along the plate boundary at the Reykjanes Ridge, based on the time-transgressive basement lineations observed previously. The principal components of the project described in papers II and III comprise acquisition of multichannel seismic profiles and advanced two-step seismic experiments at the Jan Mayen Ridge. The aim of the study of paper IV was to compile all existing sediment data within the area of oceanic crust in the Norwegian-Greenland Sea to discuss the results in the view of the evolution of the Zenozoic ocean. In the latest two papers recent deep seismic data acquired in the Barents Sea were analyzed.
