摘要

Research continued on the use of electrochemical membranes to remove SO(sub x) from flue gas. This quarter research focused on three aspects of the process; (1) membrane development; (2) electrode development; and (3) testing performance of the electrochemical cell. The majority of work conducted on the membrane was with MgO as the matrix material. In the area of electrode development, perovskite electrodes were investigated with regard to: (1) structure; and (2) performance as compared to NiO commercial electrodes. The mechanism of SO(sub 2) removal, and reaction kinetics, is also discussed. 3 refs., 9 figs., 1 tab.
