High efficiency mixed solid waste-fossil fuel combustion power system

摘要

A novel concept is presented in which refuse-derived fuel is burned along with coal to produce electric power at a high thermodynamic cycle efficiency. The concept embodies a combined cycle in which a natural gas-fired turbine-generator produces electric power and the exhaust gas is routed to a circulating fluidized bed combustion boiler where the excess air in the exhaust gas is utilized in the combustion of pelletized solid waste, in combination with coal, to produce superheated steam for driving a turbine-generator.
