摘要

The development of techniques for structural characterization of DNA adducts is essential in fully understanding their biological effects. Because biological activity depends on the isomeric structure of the adduct, it is necessary to not only establish the identity of the adduct, but also to determine the position of the adduct attachment to the nucleoside and the sequence position of the modified nucleoside in an oligomer. In the present study, laser desorption-ionization, collision activated dissociation (CAD) and ion/molecule reactions have been employed in the Fourier transform mass spectrometer (FTMS) to determine the site of methyl alkylation to guanine.
