Massachusetts Wetlands Restoration Study: A Review of Project MonitoringProcedures

The purpose of this study was to assist the Wetlands Restoration and BankingProgram (MWRP) in evaluating wetland restoration monitoring strategies for the Commonwealth. The report discusses the different project contexts within which monitoring is conducted; provides guidance for establishing performance criteria; recommends a monitoring framework based on a review of two approaches to monitoring; and discusses the use of reference wetlands for evaluating restoration project success. The study was conducted under the authority contained in the Section 22 Planning Assistance to States Program.
