摘要

This study develops techniques for estimating return velocity and drawdown fromcommercial vessels operating in navigable waterways and compares them to model and prototype data. Confined channel methods are modified to extend their application to large riverine navigation systems. The results are incorporated into the PC program NAVEFF with this report serving as the documentation. This report presents a modification and an expansion of the results presented in Maynord and Siemsen (1991) and used data from shallow draft navigation on the Ohio, Illinois, and Upper Mississippi Rivers.
