Petri Nets And their Application to Command And Control Systems

Petri nets are directed graphs which were designed to model discrete eventsystems with concurrence and resource sharing. This makes them a useful method of graphically representing command and control systems. In this document Petri nets and some of their extensions are explained in detail. Coloured Petri nets, an extension of Petri nets, with timed transitions are used to model a command and control system.
