Preparation and Evaluation of Single-Crystal Yttrium Titanate-Based Monofilaments

This SBIR Phase I research produced and characterized single-crystalmonofilaments of Y2Ti2O(z) for preliminary evaluation as reinforcement. These Experiments were initiated without benefit of prior experience with the material because no crystal growth citations were identified and equilibrium phase relationships were incomplete.
